what are we doing?!!

hey you all, this is lenny. life is very interesting right now. first of all, how did life ever get so expensive. it seems like our bank account is like a funnel. except not quite, because with a funnel, things leave slower than they enter. not so with our bank account. anyway, i guess that's how life is here. anyway, i have to things to write about. first of all, on thursday, our crew was working down close to faith on 8th, which is where our team did our outreach during training last fall. it was cool to be in the inner city again. we were working at a united way school where they do things with kids during the summer. it seemed like they had a pretty cool thing going on there. secondly, tina and i went to see shakespeare in the park last night. again, getting into the city was refreshing. i'm really missing european culture right now. everything here is so country, republican, and honky-tonk, which is very unlike spain. so being downtown again was kind of like a breath of fresh air. also, i found these awesome olives at trader joe. they are dry cured morroccan olives. i had them in spain, and imagine my suprise to find them for a measly 1.99 here on this side of the atlantic. check them out if you are a fan of aceitunas. anyway, i gotta run. joe and renee are coming over tonite, and i told tina that i would make some cookies. we would love to hear from you all.

ups and downs of reentry...

Hi, all! So life back in the states is just a little crazy! This week has been a bit of a downer for both Len and I. He doesn't like going back to work, and I am starting to with I could have some sort of job... The money thing and all. We talked with someone about health insurance last night - not so fun! It's things like that that make Europe's health care for everyone plans seem good! But enough of the crappy mood - God is good, and he provides in all sorts of cool ways.
Len and I had a great time getting reaquainted with all of our family and friends. Last Saturday Brooke and Brian had a small get together, and we had fun holding all the sweet babies, and generally yacking with our friends. It's so nice to have great people to come home to! This weekend we are going to my family's house for my sister Julie's birthday, and Laura will be there, it will be very nice! much girliness, much teasing of the younger brother, much begging of the older sister to have a baby....
Nope, not yet!!!
So I hope to have a weekly entry about spain, since we were horrible at communcating while we were there, hopefully we can catch a few of you up on some of what we did there. The first picture is of our team, us plus Janell, Austin, and Greg (greg is the shorter one - we got many great short jokes in, too!). We are at the Alcazaba in malaga, which is a castle that the moors built while they occupied Spain. The second picture is one that happened every afternoon for awhile! We all had our afternoon espresso, and often some bread and olives to go with it. You can see Greg's hand grinder, and even tho it took forever, he and Len ground coffee for us! Mmm, that makes me want an olive....

We're back!!!

Hi, all you faithful bloggers out there! Yes, we are back from Spain, and trying to restart our lives back in lovely Ohio. We are back in our old apartment next to Len's parents, he is back to mason work, and life rolls on ??! We now have a computer, sans internet connection, but hopefully we will be updating a little more often. We missed you all dreadfully, but the blogs helped, so now hopefully you can all hear from us, instead of just us hearing from you! I will post more later, as we are about to leave panara and go garage saling! Love you all
Len and Tina
